Scott will create a unique portrait based on deep observation, insight and skill. Commissions range depending on variables of complexity, please contact the artist for rates. A commission does not include expenses for travel beyond New York City. Rates refer to the final artwork only. Framing and delivery is not included.
Upon acceptance of a commission, you will meet and talk with Scott about the subject and what he or she holds dear to you. Ideally, Scott will spend a few hours with the subject in his or her daily environment, making sketches while they go about their activities.
At that point, a layout will be agreed upon and one of two options will be selected. A formal sitting is Scott’s preferred approach (it will also be a unique and memorable experience for the subject). A sitting averages about three hours. If a formal sitting is not possible, Scott can photograph the subject and complete the piece in his studio. Though he will work primarily from the reference photos, a final meeting or sitting may be requested before the piece is delivered.
Scott is also available for private tutelage at his studio or your home/studio. Group rates apply for a group of 4 or more persons.
